Hysteria of Origins is the forthcoming EP and music video written and directed by 8ULENTINA. The 5 track EP is approached as a character study and exploration of the multiplicity of self. Using fictional characters, visual poetics and fantasy narrative as a proxy for my relationship to gender and my non-binary identity. Engaged in the history of non western cinema and poetry, the title, Hysteria of Origins is named after a section from Trish Salah’s book of poetry, Wanting in Arabic. The tracks hybridize jungle and DnB with stripped back melodic acoustic elements.
